Eelkman Rooda works from the limitations of kinesiology tape. He paints these and combines them into compositions. The unpredictable outcomes of this process intrigue him. Where much comparable abstract art often strives for perfection and excludes chance, he lets the tape do its thing to achieve a raw, porous and painterly effect. This is enhanced by objects used to create patterns after the strips have been painted. Control and chance alternate.
